Hilliard F. "Trey" Kelly received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Southeastern Louisiana University, graduating with Honors in 1995. He received his Juris Doctorate from Louisiana State University Law School in 1998. While there, he was a Member of the Louisiana Law Review, and his article " Louisiana’s 'Megan's Law': The Need for a Principled Approach," was published in Vol. 58 (1998), PP. 1169-1207. Since graduation, he has specialized in defending product manufacturers, trying numerous redhibition and product liability suits in both state and federal courts. His practice has also included insurance defense, ERISA litigation, trucking and transportation, automobile casualty, maritime, and toxic torts.
In addition to his legal work, Trey was also deployed to Iraq twice as a combat helicopter pilot. He is currently a Major in the Texas National Guard with more than 1200 flight hours, as well as qualifications in four army aircraft, including the AH-64 Attack Helicopter. While serving in combat, MAJ. Kelly was awarded the Bronze Star Medal (twice), Air Medal, Combat Action Badge, and various other service awards.
