Burgess McCranie is a founding Director at McCranie, Sistrunk, Anzelmo, Hardy, McDaniel & Welch.  He has extensive experience representing business clients with particular emphasis in the fields of franchising, licensing, and insurance regulation.  He has developed numerous agreements and handled state registrations as well as all aspects of franchise company representation.  He has also represented several state agencies.

Mr. McCranie is former General Counsel for Popeye’s Famous Fried Chicken, Inc., (1973-1983).  While General Counsel, he was responsible for all real estate activities across the United States.  He negotiated and prepared sales, security documents, leases, and other transactions relating to real estate.  He has been active in zoning and re-zoning matters and has represented lenders and clients in various real estate activities.

Mr. McCranie has represented his clients in all Louisiana State district court, Courts of Appeal, and the Louisiana Supreme Court.
